Richard Clothier

Richard trained at Mountview Theatre School and Ecole Jacques Lecoq.

Theatre work includes:

The Tempest, The Browning Version, A Woman Killed With Kindness, Hindle Wakes, Dead of Night, End of the World Romance, Grace, Take Away, Tango at the End of Winter, The Taming of the Shrew, Like Candyfloss, King Lear, Steven and Coriolanus. For the RSC: The Alchemist, The Virtuoso, The Dybbuk, The Two Gentleman of Verona, Hamlet, King Lear, The Merchant of Venice. Richard has worked on several productions at the Watermill, including Henry V, The Comedy of Errors, Twelfth Night, and Rose Rage. TV and film: Columbus, Don't be Afraid, Tango With Ninagawa, The Knock, Midsomer Murders, Without Motives and In Search of the Brontes.

Simon Scardifield

Simon studied modern languages at Cambridge University, and then trained at Guildhall and with Philippe Gaulier.

Apart from Rose Rage and A Midsummer Night's Dream for Propeller, Simon has played Romeo at the Contact Theatre, Manchester, and Eric in Stephen Daldry's An Inspector Calls at the Garrick Theatre, as well as appearing in Goodnight Children Everywhere and Twelfth Night for the RSC, and The Cherry Orchard for ETT. Other stage work includes Spring Awakening at BAC, Ferdinand in The Duchess of Malfi at the New Vic Theatre, Paradise Lost at the Bristol Old Vic and, most recently, on tour and at BAM, New York in A Passage to India with Shared Experience. Screen credits include, inevitably, Casualty and Soldier Soldier; also Monsignor Renard, and the feature film High Heels and Low Lifes. On the radio: The Constant Prince, Antony and Clepoatra, The Weight of Water, The Marseilles Trilogy and The Pyramid, amongst others. In the Summer of 2004 Simon made his directorial debut, helping The Bearded Ladies to success at the Edinburgh Festival.

Tam Williams

Tam trained at Guildford School of Acting in London.

Vince Leigh

Vincent's most recent role was as Hero in Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forumn at The National Theatre.

Bob Barret

Trained at Guildford School of Music and Drama.

Jules Werner

Jules trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.

He joined Propeller four years ago, understudying the entire company in Rose Rage and then playing Flute in A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Other theatre credits include Hamlet, Jerry in Pinter's Betrayal, Danceny in a French production of Les Liaisons Dangereuses, Philip in Orphans by Lyle Kessler and the 1st Murderer in a Luxembourg open-air production of Macbeth. Film and television credits include Peter Greenaway's 81/2 Women, 30 Years to Life for Canadian TV and the BBC's Spooks. He has just appeared in Michael Radford's film version of The Merchant of Venice.

 

Tony Bell

Tony was born in Nottingham and trained at Lancaster University and Webber Douglas.

Tony recently went to Japan to be in Red Demon for Hiclkenoda and directed The Winter's Tale and Twelfth Night at Alra Drama School. Other theatre credits include Ghostward at the Almedia, Bouncers for Hull Truck, The Mysteries at Bolton. For the Watermill UP 'n' Under, Travels With My Aunt, Far From the Madding Crowd, and with Watermill Propeller, Henry V, The Comedy of Errors, Twelfth Night, Rose Rage and A Mid Summer Night's Dream. Tony has toured America in Macbeth for AFTLS and South East Asia with Watermill Propeller.

Television work includes: Holby City, The Bill, Peak Practice, EastEnders, Doctors, Dream Team, Trial and Retribution V, and Trail of Guilt. Radio includes Into Exile, Love Among the Haystacks and Travels in Italy, a collection of short stories by D H Lawrence. Tony also teaches at Shakespeare's Globe and in schools and colleges in London and Berkshire.

Chris Myles

Chris read Modern Languages at Oxford University before training at the Central School of Speech and Drama.

Last autumn he was Neville in "Neville's Island" at the Watermill and before that Bertolt Brecht in "Marieluise" at The Gate Theatre, Notting Hill. Previously for Propeller he has appeared at The Watermill, on national and international tours and in the West End in "A Midsummer Night's Dream", "Rose Rage", "Twelfth Night", "Comedy of Errors" and "Henry V". Michael Pavelka

Designer

Michael trained at Wimbledon School of Art, where he has since returned to lead the Design for Performance www.wimbledon.ac.uk course.

Michael has designed some 150 productions, most of which have been new plays or new musicals. His work includes two shows for the late Lindsey Anderson: The Fishing Trip and Holiday, Old Vic Theatre. Also The Life of Galileo (Best Design Manchester Evening News Theatre Awards), A Midsummer Night's Dream (winner Best Production MEN Awards) also The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui and The Caucasian Chalk Circle at the Library Theatre Manchester.

His ongoing work with Edward Hall and the Propeller Company includes productions of A Midsummer Night's Dream, Twelfth Night, Henry V and the adaptation of Henry VI plays, Rose Rage, at the Watermill Theatre, at the Theatre Royal Haymarket and new production at the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre which transferred to New York and earned him Best Costume Design nomination at Chicago's Jeff Awards. Other productions in the West End include; The Constant Wife, How the Other Loves, Other People's Money, Leonardo, Blues in the Night performed in Dublin, New York, Tokyo after two West End seasons and Macbeth.

Michael co-produced a Young People's Shakespeare Festival in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia and has since designed the first African language Mother Courage and Her Children in Kampala, at the Kennedy Center, Washington DC and Grahamstown Festival, South Africa.

Designs for the Royal Shakespeare Company include, The Odyssey, Two Gentlemen of Verona, Henry V and Julius Caesar.

Roger Warren

Roger Warren's numerous publications include books about A Midsummer Night's Dream and Shakespeare's Late Plays in performance, and editions of Twelfth Night, Cymbeline, Henry VI Part Two, and Pericles for the Oxford Shakespeare series.

His theatre work includes extensive collaboration with Peter Hall at the National Theatre, at Stratford-upon-Avon, at the new Rose theatre in Kingston-upon-Thames, and for his American Shakespeare Company in Los Angeles.

His collaborations with Edward Hall include Julius Caesar at Stratford in 2001, and both A Midsummer Night's Dream Rose Rage, at the Watermill, on tour and in the West End.
